Digital Sight ACT-1 for L-1 Software

Deleting Digital Images

Images captured with the Digital Sight ACT-1 software may be conveniently selected and deleted from the Thumbnail display area of the main window, either individually or in groups. After being selected, images are deleted by clicking the Delete button in the left-hand toolbar.

The thumbnail display panel allows the review of all captured images contained in the currently selected image directory (set in the File settings panel). A maximum of five images are displayed at one time, and scrolling backward and forward in steps of one or five images is controlled by sets of scrolling arrows at either end of the thumbnail area (Figure 1). An image is selected by clicking it with the mouse, causing its border to appear in red. One or more images may be selected in any order by clicking them individually. Any image can be unselected by clicking it again, removing the red border designation. Two or more adjacent images may be selected in one operation by clicking on the first image, then clicking on the last image in the series while pressing and holding the Shift key on the keyboard. The borders of all images in the selected series appear in red.

Selected images are deleted by clicking on the Delete button in the main window (left-hand) toolbar (see Figure 1 in the Image Display and Analysis Features section), or by activating the File command list from the main menu bar and selecting the Delete command. When the delete command is entered, the Delete image file dialog box opens to verify the operation prior to file deletion (Figure 2). The Delete image file confirmation box lists the name of the file to be deleted. If the file name is verified to be correct, clicking the OK button will delete it from the computer hard drive. This dialog will be repeated for each image if more than one has been selected, and each will be deleted as the OK button is clicked. The Skip button should be selected if deletion of the listed image is not desired. If verification of each image is not necessary, clicking on the OK to all button will delete all selected images.

When any image is right-clicked with the mouse, a Thumbnail Menu is displayed (see Figure 1), which provides a rapid means of selecting or unselecting all of the images (Select All, Unselect All), or jumping to the first or last images in the image folder (Jump to TOP, Jump to END). All images in the selected file folder can be quickly deleted in this fashion by choosing Select All and clicking the Delete button, followed by clicking OK to all in the Delete image file dialog box.
