Deleting Digital Images
Images captured by the DXM 1200 Digital Eclipse control software (ACT-1) can only be selected and deleted from the Thumbnail display area, either individually or in groups of up to five images at a time.
To delete an image, first select the image from the Thumbnail display area (illustrated in Figure 1) by clicking with the mouse cursor (a red bounding box then encircles the image). To delete two or more images (up to five images), select the first image, then hold the Shift key and select the last image in the series. All of the intermediate images appearing between the first and last will also be selected. After selecting the images to be deleted, use the Delete button in the main menu tool bar to delete the image. To deselect any images that should not be deleted, simply click once on the thumbnail to remove the red bounding box.
Images appearing in the Thumbnail display area are labeled with the image filename, the exposure mode utilized to capture the image, and the image size. In addition, the currently displayed image numbers are listed at the bottom of the display area, as well as the total number of thumbnail images stored during the current session. The number of selected images is also displayed at the lower right of the Thumbnail display area. A set of two scroll buttons appears to the left and right of the thumbnail window, with each button having either a single or double green arrow icon. The scroll bars having only a single green arrow will advance the thumbnail images to the left or right by one image per mouse click. Scroll bars having a double green arrow will advance the thumbnail images at five (5) images per click.
Right-clicking anywhere on the Thumbnail display area will launch the Thumbnail Menu, which is utilized to select or deselect all images at once or to jump to the top or end of the thumbnail image library (those images recorded during the current imaging session).
After images have been selected, they may be deleted by one of two maneuvers: Clicking on the Delete button in the main menu tool bar (Figure 2), or by activating the File command list from the main menu and selecting the Delete command. When a delete command has been issued, the Delete Files dialog box (not illustrated) appears to question the operation prior to file deletion. This dialog box lists the name of the image file to be deleted. Check the filename and click on the Yes button if the filename is correct. This step should be repeated when two or more images are selected for deletion. If a selected image is chosen not to be deleted, click on the Skip button. Note that all selected images (if more than one exists) can be deleted simultaneously by clicking on the Yes to All button in the Delete Files dialog box.
