Squash Bug

Presented above is a photomicrograph of a squash bug's mouthparts, which are used to suck the juices out of plants such as pumpkins, melons, and cucumbers. The digital image was captured using a Nikon SMZ1500 microscope coupled to an epi-fluorescence illuminator and the DXM1200 camera system.
