Presented above is a photomicrograph pine blister rust (Cronartium ribicola), a serious disease affecting pine trees and certain berry bushes. The digital image was captured using a Nikon SMZ1500 microscope coupled to an epi-fluorescence illuminator and the DXM1200 camera system.
