FRET with Spectral Imaging Literature References

Analysis of resonance energy transfer (FRET) between synthetic fluorophores and fluorescent proteins can be readily detected and quantified using spectral imaging and linear unmixing techniques. These probes can be gauged with respect to changes in the emission ratios between the donor and acceptor as a function of added reagents (such as calcium) in fluorescent protein biosensors and with other systems. In addition, spectral imaging can be coupled with acceptor photobleaching FRET techniques to yield quantitative data from spectral profiles obtained before and after bleaching.
