Commensal Fungi Recapitulate the Protective Benefits of Intestinal Bacteria

Did you know gut bacteria are important in preventing tissue intestinal injury and conferring anti-microbial immunity? Researchers at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center show that commensal fungi are capable of replacing gut bacteria. Imaging was performed with a Nikon 80i upright microscope.
