Developmental Alterations in Huntington's Disease Neural Cells and Pharmacological Rescue in Cells and Mice

New research in Nature Neuroscience examines the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration due to Huntington’s disease. Patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells were used to create neural models of the disease, and RNA-seq applied towards identification of genes with decreased expression. Treatment targeting key dysregulated pathways is demonstrated in mice models. Automated robotic microscopy of iPSC cultures was performed using a Nikon Ti inverted microscope with Perfect Focus.
