Genetic Correction of SOD1 Mutant iPSCs Reveals ERK and JNK Activated AP1 as a Driver of Neurodegeneration in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

New open access research in Stem Cell Reports utilized induced pluripotent stem (iPSC) models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis to identify pathways dysregulated by mutant SOD1 in human motor neurons, finding that ERK and JNK signaling are key in neurodegeneration. Electrophysiology experiments were performed on a Nikon Ti-E inverted microscope.
